Happy Birthday to you, from me! 17

Hi there everyone! I’m procrastinating again, making cards instead of doing what I’m meant to be doing! however there was a reason for this one, I decided to make something to give away on my facebook page, and this was it!

I really like this stamp from JillyBean Soup, and it makes a change from cards with lots of time spent colouring- I don’t do a lot of word with pure text stamps, but this one is a perfect size to do lots of different things with, I’m sure!

I used a few of the fantastic Kate and Co papers from My Minds Eye inc to create the background for the text, and I’m loving how bright and fun they look! the pack has some gorgeous florals in too for more feminine cards, but I just love the checks, houndstooth and spots that are included too!

to make this card, you need a 6″ square card blank, and I matted a 14.2 cm square paper with navy blue and then purple cardstock.

I then centred a 12.5 cm paper matted on the navy cardstock on top of this, then added a vertical strip of the spotty paper (13 x 6.5cm) that I matted on the purple.

The central focus of the card is this sentiment stamp from Jillybean Soup, cut to 8cm square, then matted with both the blue and the purple, before finishing off with a navy pennant in the top right corner, which features a star punched out of pale gold glittered card, popped up on a 3D foam square, with faux stitching done with a white Jelly Roll pen

I also added some faux enamel dots in black/white Β and a softΒ grey that I had hiding in my stash from when my Friend Cheri from over at Karleigh Sue made up a batch, to the top left of the dotty paper, and bottom right of the checked paper.

my purple and navy cardstock was from over at papermill direct, and the colours are just beautiful.. and the stamp was inked in versafine onyx black- it would look equally striking if embossed, too!

if you want to win this card, the link to the Crafty Little Creations Facebook page is at the bottom of my blog somewhere!

have a happy Tuesday! I’m off to clear up the chaos that is my desk, then do the school run πŸ™‚
