Hot geometrics!

I had the good fortune recently to win a crafty giveaway, which was comprised of a docrafts goody bag full of some awesome bits and pieces! these are always a steal, but getting to play for free was an awesome opportunity, and I’ve got stuck right in during last night and this morning, to bring you the first batch of cards I created mostly with the neon geometrics range, and a few bits and pieces from my craft area!

They are so bright and fun, aren’t they? I chose to keep the backing vard the same in this mini collection, and managed to make all three cards using one A4 piece of orange cardstock matting!

I’ve also used some of the very yummy vellum sheets, of which there are 8 sheets (2 of each design) , papers, stickers, and die cut strips from the A4 ultimate die cut & paper pack , and of course the A5 clear stamp set that coordinates with the rest of the capsule collection.

all I have added extra was one piece of plain vellum, twine, sequins, and a little white gelly roll pen around the edges of two of these cards, and also the speech bubble, which I cut in two parts on my Brother Scan ‘N’ Cut machine, with the aid of my software, and a speech bubble SVG.

To make the HEY THERE card, you need :

an A6 card blank,

a 10.2 x 14.5 cm piece of orange cardstock

a 9.9 x 14.2 cm piece of the foiled circles paper

a 3.5 x 14.2 piece of the gold foiled and orange chevron vellum

the grey and lemon chevron diecut strip

the large stickers

self adhesive rhinestones.

Matt your paper onto the card, and set aside.

add the chevron border to the right side of the vellum, slightly over the edge. This is where most of the glue holding the vellum in place will be hidden. add a small dot of glue (clear drying) to the left  top and bottom of the vellum, and stick along the left side of the spotted paper.

add two loops of twine, and a twine bow to the centre of this side panel, and a self adhesive rhinestone to the top and bottom edge- hiding the glue.

then choose your stickers, and apply to the right hand panel of the card. finish up with sequins, and a faux stitched border using a gelly roll marker if you like.

add to your card blank.

to make the ‘hello’ banner card you will need to:

cut an orange cardstock matt at 10.2 cm x 14.5 cm

cut a piece of linen (or plain white) cardstock at 9.9 x 14.2 cm

using the A5 clear stamp set, ink up your circles in a random pattern, using grey and orange inks

(for an extra touch, the solid orange circles have been coloured over with a Wink of Stella marker)

adhere together.

cut an 11.5 x 6 cm piece of the spotty paper, and a 11.5 x 7 cm piece of plain vellum

cut a notch in the bottom of both, and onto the vellum stamp the ‘hello’ sentiment

arrange slightly offset, and stick together (I used a staple, which is hidden by the bow)

adhere to the previous layers, and create a multi loop bow in a bright colour, and use to hide the staple.

sprinkle sequins and a couple of twinkly self adhesive rhinestones on the vellum, and glue where looks best.

to make the hello speech bubble card you will need to:

cut a speech bubble slightly larger than the hello stamp, either with dies if you have them, or a machine like the brother scan n cut, or silhouette cameo.

outline in black if you have a die, or knock out the centre of the speech bubble in your software (then have it cut one outer edge, and a solid in white)

stamp the hello sentiment on the solid white speech bubble in grey, and adhere (or draw on) the black border.

along the top edge of your orange cardstock (long side) stamp some of the chevrons in orange.

cut a 6 cm x 14.5 cm piece of the chevron vellum, and a chevron diecut strip. adhere all three together, pop up the speech bubble on 3d foam pads, and add a faux stitched border with a gelly roll pen if you feel like it!
