spring flowers amidst the april showers! 1

as usual, April has started with a few rain showers, but amidst it all the flowers are growing beautifully, and there are still many beautiful daffodils waving their frilly heads about to be seen when out walking with the little ones.
I took inspiration from this today, and used a colour I very rarely use in a large stretch- this beautiful yellowy gold!

as it is spring too, and the time for spring cleaning, I’m endeavouring to make a hoard of pretty cards utilising all the bits and pieces of paper and card I have saved up over the past few years. the coredinations cardstock used here is actually from when I started crafting, and is the last piece I had… but it really brightens up even the most showery day, and was a brilliant backing piece for this card!

How to:

I cut my cardstock to 10.2×14.5 cm and ran it through my bigshot inside a wod grain embossing folder.

I then lightly sanded the raised areas, to distress slightly , as this sort of cardstock is MADE to be sanded and distressed!

I cut a 12 x  5 cm piece of white cardstock and fashioned it into a tag shape, by snipping off the top corners, and punching a hole.

I then took my sponge tool, and with scattered straw distress ink , inked the edges of the tag.

I then stamped my flowers onto the main part of the tag, using memento ink, and coloured using a mixture of copics, gelly roll pen and a wink of stella orange glitter marker.

I finished up by the tag by adding a brad through the centre of the two largest flowers, and some bamboo twine through the top hole.

I then cut the  ‘thanks’ diecut in a teal cardstock, and added some gelly rol accents, and a strip of pink striped paper measuring 4.5 x 10.2 cms

I then assembled and adhered to the embossed panel, using a mixture of glue dots and tacky glue.

finally, I adhered the finished card front to my A6 card blank using DST .
