Hi there! I’ve scheduled this post for you! when you read this, I’ll be on my way to meet another design team member from the Karleigh Sue team for the first time- we are attending the September craft show held at Alexandra palace in London! I’ll be spending a day there, soaking up lots of inspiration from the samples made by other design teams around the country, hopefully taking part in some make and take sessions held by some of the exhibitors there, seeing new trends and hopefully bringing back some new craft haul to use in my cards – both the custom made cards, and cards I feel need to be made!
I’m also taking one of the next generation’s crafters with me- my four year old is desperate to go, as she missed it last year due to chickenpox hitting her at just the wrong time!
For this card, I teamed subtle colours in the image, which I coloured with my trusty copic markers, with some of my favourite bold papers- I have a slight paper addiction, and this is from a 12×12 sheet by one of my favourite american craft brands, My Minds Eye!
The digital stamp is called ‘I love you‘ and is by Karleigh Sue digital stamps – drawn by Cheri Shull
I used fairly simple shapes and layers, but made it more interesting by adding some scalloped die cut trims to the layer behind the image (Stampin’ Up), handmade flowers ( X-cut) and a stamped sentiment which I die cut and layered onto another diecut piece of cardstock! (LOTV, Sizzex)
This card is 6 inches square, and like many of my cards it is a tent fold- I prefer using tent folds as they cope a lot better with layers and the weight involved.
If you are remotely crafty, you can check out the rest of the team’s work with the other images released today here!
I’ll be making this card available in my shop once I return!
