CAS watercolour unicorn card

FT: Chunky Monkey Crafts & Sizzix

Hi there!

Firstly, a huge shout out to Brad from Shawstex, who managed in a few minutes to work out exactly WHERE in the void of Time and Space my actual NEW(er) blog had disappeared to, and reinstated it for me!

YAY! the platform I have been using over the past few months has just not been working for me, so I am glad to be back over here with you all.

This way I can even blog on the go, because my blog can be updated from my Ipad- Huzzah!

Today’s card is a really CAS one with a lot of white space- really easy to make, but really cute too!

It is a UK a6 size card, and the card front is made from Faber Castell mixed media paper.

I did enlist the use of some Pebeo Drawing gum- but you can just as easily paint carefully, or mask your stamped image off some other way.

clean and simple card with a lot of white space. towards the bottom is a chubby unicorn, sitting down, with the stamp 'delivered by a unicorn' underneath (from Chunky Monkey Crafts) the unicorn is watercoloured and has a loose watercoloured grass and sky around it.

Making the card

The unicorn stamp is from Sizzix and comes with a matching outline die- I only used the stamp on this card.

I stamped both the unicorn, and the sentiment (Chunky Monkey Crafts ‘Sealed with a kiss’ ) with waterproof ink, and used the drawing gum to mask off the unicorn.

If you LOVE the sentiment you can use code ‘rachelcmc10’ to get 10% off your purchases on the Chunky Monkey Crafts WEBSITE

Once the drawing gum was dry (when it gets darker, you can tell it is ready!) I used my Gansai Tambi watercolours to add a loose scribbly sky and grass around the unicorn.

Once THAT was dry, I peeled off the drawing gum and shaded the unicorn.

I painted it some rosy coloured cheeks, and added some sparkle to the horn using my Spectrum Noir sparkle pen (clear)

as a finishing touch, I added a quick doodly border around the whole piece using a fineliner.

Finally, I stuck my watercolour cardstock piece to the front of a UK A6 size card blank.

I hope you enjoyed this card, and reading about the process- Any questions, please do leave me a comment or get in touch on social media!
